FGBC Council Meets at Seal Beach, Calif.

Phil Bryant leads devotions this morning at the meeting of the Fellowship Council. The group is meeting in Seal Beach, Calif.

Phil Bryant, pastor of Community of Hope in Surrey, B.C., kicked off the January meeting of the Fellowship Council this morning with a devotional thought on leadership.

The council, which provides direction for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches, is meeting this week at Grace Community Church, a Grace Brethren church in Seal Beach, Calif. (Steve Williams, pastor). Led by the FGBC executive director (moderator) Bartley Sawatsky, the board is hearing reports from national organizations, considering applications from new churches, and caring for other business that will set the direction and future of the Grace Brethren network.

National ministry leaders are meeting with them this morning. Giving reports are Dave Guiles, Encompass World Partners; Ed Lewis, CE National; Ken Seyfert, Grace Brethren Investment Foundation and Retirement Investment Plan; Tim Boal, Go2 Ministries; Viki Rife, Women of Grace USA; Bill Katip, Grace College and Seminary; Liz Cutler Gates, GraceConnect;  John Schumacher, Eagle Commission; and Don Shoemaker, Social Concerns.

Members of the board include Phil Bryant, Richard Todd, Matt Householder, Greg Serafino, Roy Halberg, Clancy Cruise, Michael Saldivar, Joe Cosentino, Mark Lingenfelter, Kevin Pinkerton, David Kennedy, Dan Thornton, Randy Weekley, Tim Hodge, and Larry Orme.
